Dear World

dear world,

you can keep your riches and splendor.

you can have your empty promises and ill-gained wealth.

you may relish in your "glory",

whilst I bathe in my Master's grace.

Heaven is what I inherit

I have no need of an earthly place.

There is a mansion,

waiting for me, so to that I make my haste.

you have promised good fortune and pleasant days

but all I have seen so far is guilt.

I stand up and say: Here I am Lord,

my hand is laid upon the hilt.

You have lied to me and hurt my soul

so to the One who really cares I give my all.

I despise you and now I know that you hate me too.

All of your smiles and cheerful words

have turned to swift, fleeting birds.

So, goodbye, im leaving this so-called home

and set my face to my lovely, eternal abode.
