silhouette
blank slate.
black emptiness.
fill me up with your love.
without you i am a silhouette.
the earth continues to spin
the wind continues to swirl.
my heart continues to pump
even if you are gone, i live.
but i am but a profile.
blackness floating through
unending yearning.
it hurts me to see myself
so weak without you.
the shadow i have become
whisks around quickly, scared to
face you.
my outline of dead stars and
faded hopes is plainer without you.
but as soon as you come to me,
red blood runs through my veins.
pink blush soars to my cheeks.
blue nervousness and yellow happiness fills me up.
blinding white overflows from my mouth, just
desiring for a word from you.
and as soon as you hug me, i
am a complete picture.
a glowing example of the power of love.
i pluck a handful of stars
and place them next to you,
and watch them dim next to your beauty.
i gather blood red roses and
lay them next to you
and watch them wither in awe of your splendor.
even the world is frail in comparison to you.
without you, everything is a silhouette.
